It was a domino-style accident that resulted in one hospitalization and some minor injuries and property damage in New Hartford yesterday.

According to a written release from New Hartford Police the accident happened at approximately 3:15pm on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in front of Kmart Plaza on Commercial Drive.

Police say that 40-year-old Roseann Billings of Utica, allegedly failed to see a line of stopped cars near the center turning lane on the eastbound side of Commercial Drive. She hit the car in front of her, which caused that car to hit the rear end of the car in front of it.  A total of four cars were involved.

A passenger in one of the vehicles, 49-year-old Kimberly Burgy of Utica, was brought to the hospital with head and hest pain.  The driver, 69-year-old Bonnie Burgy, was evaluated at the scene and declined immediate treatment.

The other drivers involved, 29-year-old Chelsea Mutch of Camden and 64-year-old Kathleen Smith of Poland, New York, were not treated for injuries.

Edward's Ambulance assisted the NHPD at the scene.

Billings was ticketed for following too closely and is scheduled to answer the charge in court in December.
