Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County may be pushing for 911 consolidation, but Utica's Top Cop says problems with interfacing technologies may delay that effort for several months.

Utica Police Chief Mark Williams recently meet with the Utica Common Council to bring them up to speed on the latest news regarding the consolidation effort.

According to Chief Williams, one of the challenges being faces is getting the County's records management system to work with the City's system.

The Chief is expecting some growing pains, telling WIBX News "There's technology problems that they didn't expect to encounter", adding "they're currently working with the vendors of all those products to make sure that our system integrates with the county's (system)".

Late last Month, the Oneida County Executive urged Uticans to "plan ahead' for 911 consolidation sometime during the month of November, however Chief Williams now believes that consolidation will be realized closer to February of 2012.
