Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says Oneida County has received a grant that will help senior homeowners.

NeighborWorks America has given the UNHS Neighborworks Homeownership Center $271,250 in funding that will support affordable housing and prevent foreclosure in Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison counties.

In 2011 the HomeOwnership Center rehabilitated more than 80 homes and provided homeownership counseling to more than 1,300 families in the local area.
