Oneida County Announces Snowmobile Registration Program

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Snowmobilers in Oneida County are being encouraged to register their sleds in order to avoid being ticketed.

Each Saturday, starting January 7, riders can register their snowmobiles at Hudon's Sled Salvage in Barneveld or at the Oneida County Welcome Center, off Thruway Exit 31, in Utica.

Riders may visit either location to register between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., until February 18.

The cost to register is $100 per snowmobile, but if the rider is a member of a state recognized snowmobile club, the cost drops to $45.

Members of the Oneida County Snowmobile Association will be available to assist people in becoming club members.
