Oneida County Corrections Officers Save Inmate From Suicide Attempt
Oneida County Sheriff's Corrections Officers saved an inmate from a suicide attempt at the county jail on Friday morning.
An officer was conducting meal service in a linear housing unit when an inmate tried to hang himself from the bars of his cell with a bed sheet.
The officer saw the inmate and called for help. A number of officers responded and were able to remove the sheet from the inmate.
The inmate was transported to a hospital to be evaluated and was medically cleared to return to the correctional facility.
The inmate has been returned to the facility and has been placed under constant supervision.
