Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is heading to Washington D.C.

Picente will attend the National Council Of County Association Executives meeting on January 8 and 9 to discuss pressing issues facing counties at the state and national level.

The agenda includes meetings about a range of topics, most importantly transportation and infrastructure.

“I look forward to representing my State and County," Picente said. "Also, this is an exciting opportunity to share best practices that we have implemented here in Oneida County that can be a model nationwide as well as learning new ideas from other counties that can also be implemented here at home. As we all know, what happens in Washington has a direct effect on us here locally. This Legislative agenda will help every county go back to their representatives in Washington and advocate for legislation that will make governing at the local level less burdensome while simultaneously assisting us in moving forward as a community.”

Also included is a session on the National Association’s strategic plan to tackle issues facing counties as well as meetings on the Association’s national legislative agenda.
