Oneida County Expands Legal Aid To Veterans

Oneida County is expanding legal aid services to area veterans through a partnership with the Syracuse University School of Law.

County Executive Anthony Picente says the county has entered into a three-year, $150,000 agreement that will allow the law school to operate its Wohl Family Veterans Legal Clinic in Oneida County.

Picente says the clinic provides free legal services to veterans as they apply for benefits or appeal unfavorable Department of Veterans Affairs decisions.  He says it's a service that can be provided to veterans that is lacking.

The legal clinic will operate at the County Office Building in Utica and a yet to be determined location in Rome.
