Oneida County Finishes 2010 With Budget Surplus
Utica, NY (WIBX) – Some good financial news for Oneida County. County Executive Anthony Picente and County Comptroller Joseph Timpano have announced that the county finished 2010 in the black.
Picente says the county achieved a budget surplus of $736,000 last year.
He says the surplus is the result of making tough management decisions all year long in every department.
Sales tax revenues also exceeded the budgeted estimate by $1.2 million.
In addition, payroll and utilities expenses were under budget by $1.2 million and $600,000 respectively.
