Oneida County Inmate Charged With Assault Following Altercation

Rome, NY (WIBX) – A Syracuse man held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility is facing an assault charge after an argument became physical.
According to Sheriff’s Investigators on January 2nd, 36-year-old Yasmeen Fagan and another inmate, 39-year-old James Kirk, were allegedly involved in an altercation involving shower shoes, when Fagan struck Kirk with a punch to the right eye area.
Kirk later followed Fagan to his cell, where Fagan hit him several times in the face and head, causing multiple cuts and bruises.
Kirk was treated in the jail’s medical area, then moved to another housing area.
Officials say Fagan is charged with second degree assault, a felony.
