Oneida County has received a nearly $100,000 grant award from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Police Protective Equipment Program.

The money will be used to buy new equipment for local police agencies.

The following agencies will receive funding:

•  Oneida County Sheriff’s Office: $29,786.

•  Utica Police Department: $24,546.

•  Rome Police Department: $22,523.

•  New Hartford Police Department: $22,000.

“This is another example of how we pursue every available avenue to provide our local law enforcement agencies with tools to make them successful,” said County Executive Anthony Picente. “Ensuring the safety of both our citizens and those bound to protect them is of the upmost importance to us.”
