Oneida County Legislator Introduces Levon’s Law
An Oneida County lawmaker is introducing legislation that will help protect children in the county.
Legislator David Gordon’s measure, “Levon’s “Law” would require the reporting of missing or deceased children in a timely manner.
Gordon says the fact that baby Levon Wameling’s father waited two weeks before reporting his son missing is unacceptable.
The local law would make it a felony for failing to report the disappearance of a child.
It would also create a felony statute for obstructing the efforts of law enforcement to find a missing child.
