An Oneida County lawmaker is introducing legislation that will help protect children in the county.

Legislator David Gordon's measure, "Levon's "Law" would require the reporting of missing or deceased children in a timely manner.

Gordon says the fact that baby Levon Wameling's father waited two weeks before reporting his son missing is unacceptable.

The local law would make it a felony for failing to report the disappearance of a child.

It would also create a felony statute for obstructing the efforts of law enforcement to find a missing child.
