Oneida County Power Outage Blamed On Car Accident

Town of Forestport, NY (WIBX) - A power outage in Oneida County is being blamed on a one car accident in Forestport. State Police say 20-year-old Caleb A. Kotwica of Holland Patent, struck a utility pole on State Route 28 shortly after 10:00 last night. They say he was reaching for an item in the passenger seat when he veered off the road and struck the pole.

The accident caused a four hour closure of Route 28, as National Grid worked to repair the damage. Kotwica was not ticketed for causing the accident, but did receive treated at the scene for the minor injuries he sustained.
