Oneida County is raising awareness of child abuse.

Officials including County Executive Anthony Picente, Sheriff Rob Maciol and District Attorney Scott McNamara were at the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center on Friday.

Blue "Pin Wheels for Prevention" were placed in the ground outside the center and Department of Social Services caseworkers were recognized.

Picente thanked the many agencies and community partners, including the YWCA Mohawk Valley, that fight child abuse all year long.

Picente says if you suspect someone is a victim of child abuse, call the Child Advocacy Center at 315-732-3990.
