Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is urging county residents to take precautions in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

Picente says he's been working closely with county, state and local officials to ensure that everything possible be done to ensure the safety of residents.

He says Oneida County's Emergency Operations Center has been set up in the basement of the County Office building.

Meanwhile, shelters have been set up across the county and will be activated if necessary.

Those locations include the MVCC gymnasium, Delta Lake Bible School in Lee Center, the Whitesboro Fire Department and th Willowvale Fire Department.
