Utica, NY (WIBX) – The Oneida County Health Department say flu season will be here soon and residents should take steps now to protect themselves from the virus that affects 20% of the country’s population each year.

The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6-months of age or older.

The Health Department is offering flu shots at their Utica clinic on Elizabeth Street every Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 throughout September and October.

Flu shots will be available at their Rome location on September 25th, October 9th and October 23rd from 10:00 to noon.

Walk-in clinics will also be held in both locations.
