The heroin epidemic continues in Central New York. An Oneida County Sherriff's Deputy responded to a call of an unresponsive male in his mid-20s at an address on Whitford Avenue in the Town of Whitestown to assist EMS. The first deputy to arrive on the scene recognized the apparent overdose, and used 2 doses of Narcan. The incident occurred on Thursday morning around 12:44 a.m.

As a result of the Narcan the effects of the opiates were reversed, and the man was saved. He was transported by Central Oneida County Ambulance to St Lukes Hospital for further treatment but is expected to recover completely.
