Oneida County Sheriff’s Offer Snowmobile Safety Tips

With snowmobile season here, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office is reminding everyone of some basic tips to ensure an enjoyable time on the trails.

They say always operate your snowmobile at a reasonable speed, follow all state snowmobile laws, stay on designated trails and never drink and drive.

Snowmobilers are also asked to respect private land owners while riding.

And any snowmobile operated in New York state must be registered with the state DMV.

You can save $55.00 per snowmobile off of your registration by joining an area snowmobile club. .
