Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol is announcing that the Oneida County Sheriff's office has received Civil Office Accreditation from the New York State Sheriff's Association.
The accreditation program is offered to all County Sheriff's Offices in New York State.

There are 121 individual standards that have to be met to obtain civil office accreditation.

Sheriff Maciol said that accreditation helps his office maintain a clear sense of purpose and is a valuable tool for regular self examination, evaluation and improvement.

"The accreditation process also improves the working relationship among our staff and those whom we serve," said Maciol. "It is important that all departments and levels of staff and leadership be involved, which builds cooperation, morale and a spirit of teamwork as everyone works toward a common goal."
