Law enforcement agencies, led by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, are preparing for the snowmobile season.

Sheriff Rob Maciol says the goal is to make snowmobile trails as safe as possible.

He says they'll be focusing on unregistered snowmobiles, imprudent speed, reckless operation and snowmobiling while intoxicated.

Maciol says safe trails benefit tourism and the region's economy.

There are over 540 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Oneida County.
