The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is hosting a job fair until 7 p.m. today, June 27 at the Sheriff's Office on Judd Road in Oriskany in an effort to recruit part-time corrections officers.

There are 15 positions available for part-time Corrections Officers, as well as various other sworn and civilian career opportunities available at the facility.

Sheriff Rob Maciol says as the 9th largest jail in the state, having part-time corrections officers is a key component of their operation because the part-time officers fill gaps in staffing where full-time officers are not available.

Applicants must be a resident of Oneida County, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and pass a background check.

Maciol says the job fair is an opportunity for anyone who might be on the fence about a career in law enforcement to see first hand what corrections officers do.
