Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Death Of Child In Western

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a four and-a-half month old baby in the Town of Western.

They say Michael Fanfarillo was found unresponsive inside his father's car on Monday afternoon.

The child was taken to Rome City Hospital, where he died.

Deputies say the investigation indicates the child was allegedly left in the vehicle for an extended period of time by his father, Mark Fanfarillo, who is a Rome Police officer.

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
