Oneida County Sheriff’s Respond To Reported Drowning

Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Delta Lake State Park Thursday afternoon for a reported drowning.

Deputies say lifeguard staff and a Good Samaritan saw a distressed swimmer in waist deep water in the marked swimming area and responded.

The 56-year old man was rescued and CPR was administered.  The man was then taken to Rome Memorial Hospital.

The incident remains under investigation and more details will be released at a later time.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Volunteer Fire Company of Western and the New York State Park Police.
