Police agencies in Oneida County will be talk part in a special enforcement effort this Fourth of July weekend to crackdown on drunk drivers.

The enforcement period will run today through Tuesday.

Oneida County STOP DWI will be partnering with the Utica, Rome, Whitesboro, Whitestown, Yorkville, Vernon and New York Mills Police Departments, along with State Police and the Sheriff's Office.

“As we get ready to celebrate America’s birthday and enjoy the beautiful weather, please remember to celebrate responsibly. Please do your part in keeping our roadways safe”, said, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente. “Happy Fourth of July have an enjoyable summer and always have a plan to get home safely!”
