The Oneida Indian Nation is thanking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for speaking out against the name of Washington's NFL team, which he said "denigrates a race of people."

A bi-partisan group of lawmakers in Washington, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, have taken a stand against the Redskins nickname, as has President Obama.

The Oneida Indian Nation is behind the "Change the Mascot" campaign, urging Redskins owner Daniel Snyder to change the team's nickname.
