Verona, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida Nation police recently earned reaccreditation for the fourth time.

The Nation's law enforcement agency is the only one operated by a sovereign Indian nation to earn accreditation. Only 6 agencies in New York State are accredited, according to a news release from Nation officials.

Captain Joseph Smith said, “The accreditation means that the agency has achieved the highest, most professional standards of excellence in law enforcement.”
