Oneida Police Arrest 16-Year-Old for Armed Robbery
An Oneida teen has been arrested following an investigation into an armed robbery.
Oneida Police were called to the area of Williams Street and East Railroad Street on Sunday evening around 9 P.M.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who reported he had been approached by two individuals who threatened him with a gun and robbed him of cash.
An investigation into the incident has turned up several leads and ultimately led to the arrest of the 16-year-old. He's been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Menacing and Robbery. The weapon used turned out to be a BB gun.
The teen is being held at the Madison County Public Safety Building in lieu of $10,000 bail and additional arrests may be forthcoming. Oneida Police members were assisted by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department along with their K-9 unit, as well as the New York State Police.
