Durhamville, NY (WIBX) – State Police have charged an Oneida teen with criminal possession of a weapon after he was stopped on Center Street in Durhamville.

Troopers say 16-year old Dylan Lopez drove around a marked patrol car with its emergency lights flashing at an accident scene.

Lopez was found to be in possession of a set of metal knuckles.

Police say Lopez was driving without a valid license or learner’s permit.

He was also charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

A passenger in the vehicle, 16-year old Jack Strait of Oneida, told troopers he was helping teach Lopez to drive and gave him permission to drive the car.

He was ticketed for permitting unlicensed operation.
