An Oneida woman was killed Wednesday night in a car-pedestrian accident on Lenox Avenue in Oneida.

Oneida City Police say 81-year old Joyce Eberlein was hit by a car while crossing the street near the intersection of West Street.

Police say Eberlien was given CPR and other first aid measures by passersby who stopped to help.  She was taken to the Oneida Health Care Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.

Police say charges against the operator of the vehicle may be pending upon completion of the investigation.
