ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A discussion of opioid abuse is on the agenda for the next monthly meeting of New York's education policy-makers.

The Board of Regents will hear Monday from a panel of presenters that includes experts, a college student and the Rochester City School District's student health services coordinator. Organizers say they'll cover topics like prevention, intervention and recovery.

The National Institutes of Health reported last month that despite a continued rise in overdose deaths among adults, past-year misuse of prescription opioids has been declining among high school seniors.
