Syracuse, NY (WIBX) - Kris Joseph and James Southerland paced the fifth-ranked Orange with 19 points apiece as Syracuse beat UAlbany 98-74 in the second round of the NIT Tip-Off Tournament.

Southerland was an impressive 8-of-12 from the floor including 3-of-4 from three-point range. Baye Moussa-Keita made all six of his field goal attempts, finishing with 14 points for Syracuse (3-0).

Fab Melo, the big seven-foot center, contributed eight points and seven rebounds.

Albany's Great Danes (1-2) were lead by 31 points from Gerardo Suero and another 20 points from Logan Aronhalt.
