UPDATE: Oswego County Couple Plead Guilty in Animal Cruelty Case
A couple who admitted leaving their dog and cat on the side of the road in freezing temperatures are on probation and will have to pay fines.
In court last night William and Robin Thrasher of Fulton, New York pled guilty to two counts of abandoning an animal in January. The dog, a young female black labrador retriever named Hope and the kitten - who had already frozen to death - were found on Route 48 in Lysander by a hunter who called authorities.
The Thrashers were each charged with seven misdemeanor charges related to animal cruelty and abandonment. Prosecutors reached a plea deal with the couple.
Hope, who had been taken in and cared for by the CNY SPCA, has been adopted and is said to be doing well.
