Overnight Accident In Westmoreland Sends Two To Hospital

Westmoreland, NY (WIBX) – The attempt to avoid a dead animal in the roadway is being blamed for an accident with injuries in the town of Westmoreland.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says 18-Year old Emily Schieferstine of Vernon apparently swerved and lost control of her truck.

The front seat passenger, 21-Year old Kyle Kimball of Rome, grabbed the steering wheel trying to help.

The truck went into the ditch and rolled over.

Another passenger, 15-Year old Savannah Williams of Westmoreland, suffered minor injuries along with Schieferstine.

Kimball was treated at the scene. Schieferstine was issued a traffic ticket.
