Owner Of Herkimer Store Arrested For Having Untaxed Cigarettes

The owner of a store in Herkimer has been charged with possession and sale of untaxed cigarettes

State Police say 45-year old Ramadan Fateh of Utica was arrested after a search warrant was executed a Friends Convenience Store on North Main Street in Herkimer.

Police say investigators seized about $1,000 worth of untaxed and unstamped Native brand cigarettes.

Fateh was charged with Possession/Transport/Sale of Unstamped/Untaxed cigarettes.

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges are expected.
