Waterville, NY (WIBX) - A Pennsylvania man is in Oneida County jail today after traveling across state lines to violate an order of protection. According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, 24 year old Alfanso Petty Jr.,  of Watkins Street in Wilkesboro, Pennsylvania, was involved in a domestic dispute incident at the residence of a female in Waterville over the weekend.

However, when Police arrived at the Schoolhouse Apartments where the incident occurred, they learned that Petty had already left the scene in a taxi to another resident on West Street in Utica, where he was later taken into custody by State and Utica Police.

Petty is charged with First Degree Criminal Contempt. He was arraigned in the Village of Waterville and transported to Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash or $50,000 bond bail. Officials say Petty has a prior conviction for Criminal Contempt. The suspect is due back in Waterville Village Court tomorrow, (2/22/11).
