Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica mayor Rob Palmieri has been performing Quality of Life sweeps for more than six months now, but still says there's more to do.

Since April 4th, Palmieri, along with city department heads and public works crews, have cleared about 55 miles of Utica's streets, while also getting to know the city's residents.

Palmieri says the reception he's received in each neighborhood has been good.

"They like the fact that we're bringing City Hall to the doorsteps of the people, to answer any questions, to listen to what their concerns are and more importantly if there are any violations, to rectify the problem," Palmieri said.

He says he and his crew will continue the sweeps each Wednesday until winter.
