Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Board of Elections continues to count absentee ballots in Utica to determine who will be the city's next mayor.

With 194 absentee ballots in nine districts left to be counted, Democratic mayoral candidate, Robert Palmieri, holds onto a 422 vote lead over his Republican opponent, Mike Cerminaro.

It appears that the remaining ballots will not have an impact on the final outcome of the election.

The Board of Elections hopes to have a finalized count ready tomorrow.

Five candidates took part in this year's election, including Palmieri, Cerminaro, Robert Cardillo, Robert Clemente and Ernie Sanita.
