Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri is hosting his seventh Quality Of Life Sweep today, targeting the city's West side.

Palmieri and his crew of department heads and codes personnel will begin their sweep at noon, at the intersection of Court Street and Lincoln Avenue.

They will then work their way south on Lincoln to Sunset Ave, at which point the mayor will decide whether to stay on Lincoln or move to Sunset, where they will stay until three.

The mayor is hoping to continue his weekly sweep until December. Last year, Palmieri covered more than 70 miles of road in 36 weeks.
