Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri's latest "Super Sweep" broke the 100 mile mark today.Palmieri led his 18th Quality of Life Sweep today beginning at the intersection of Oriskany and Genesee Streets and ending at the Parkway.

Along the way the mayor planned to repaint fire hydrants, trim trees and shrubs, pick up litter and stop to talk with local business owners.

Palmieri was joined by Utica Department heads, and as they made their way toward the Parkway the mayor could be seen using branch trimmers and even driving the vacuum cart along Genesee Street.

Palmieri said he enjoys the sweeps because he likes to get his hands dirty.
