ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A panel discussion on the lessons of Hurricane Maria is being held at the University at Albany.

Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico as a Category 4 storm in September 2017, causing more than an estimated $100 billion in damage.

University at Albany President Havidan Rodríguez will lead a panel Monday night to discuss the humanitarian crisis and lessons for the future.

The panel at the University at Albany Downtown Campus is part of the New York State Writers Institute's spring 2019 lineup.
