Paralympic athletes from around the world will be in the Utica-area this weekend to compete in the 10th Annual U.S Open International Wheelchair Bonspiel.

It's the third largest wheelchair curling competition in the world and is sponsored by Sitrin Health Care.

12 teams will take part in the tournament, which will be held Friday through Sunday at the Utica Curling Club on Clark Mills Road in Whitesboro.

Ten Sitrin STARS athletes will be representing the United States -- Patrick McDonald, Steve Emt, Jimmy "Jam" Joseph, Penny Greely, Meghan Lino, Tim Kelly, Pam Wilson, Justin Marshall, Bob Prenoveau and Mark Taylor.

The event is free and open to the public.
