Oriskany, NY (WIBX) - A boil water advisory has been issued for select parts of the Village of Oriskany.

The Mohawk Valley Water Authority is working to repair a water main break that occurred on Route 69. As a result, residents living on Elm and Maple Streets, Oklahoma Avenue and Utica Street between Hillside Drive and Shacksbury Road now have to boil their water.

The advisory will be in effect in those areas for a minimum of 24 hours, or until tests show the water is uncontaminated.

Residents are reminded to boil water for at least two minutes before drinking it or using it for cooking.
