UPDATED 6/23/1015 12:28 pm - New Hartford Police have released the names of the two people who were killed in separate accidents on Monday.

41-year old Christine Ducatt of New Hartford was struck by a car late last night as she attempted to cross Route 5 just west of Applewood Boulevard.

She died at a local hospital.

Earlier in the day, 19-year old Michael Oltmann of Waterville was killed when his motorcycle was hit head-on by a car on Route 12 and Brimfield Street.

Both accidents remain under investigation.

The woman, according to preliminary findings released by New Hartford Police, was walking on the north shoulder of the road and then attempted to cross in front of a vehicle that was westbound when she was hit.  The impact sent her over the car, driven by a 46-year-old man from Sherrill.  She was brought by Edwards Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a full examination.

The driver is not, as of this posting, facing any charges.  The victim's name has not been released yet pending notification of her family.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and New Hartford Police Accident Reconstruction Unit are working together to investigate.
