The President and CEO of Mohawk Valley Health System is calling on Congresswoman Claudia Tenney to vote no on the American Health Care Act.

Scott Perra says the upcoming vote is a pivotal moment for hospitals in New York State.

Perra says if the legislation is passed, it will negatively impact hospitals and providers throughout the state.  He also believes some hospitals would be forced to close their doors.

"Our health system is already challenged by low reimbursement for the care we provide for our communities. Medicaid and Medicare make up 72 percent of our insurance reimbursement. I would strongly encourage Congresswoman Tenney to vote no on this piece of legislation" said Perra.

A vote on the ACHA is expected to take place on Thursday.
