LAURENS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a person sought in the suspicious deaths of two people in a rural upstate New York home has been taken into custody after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.

Schoharie  County Sheriff Tony Desmond tells WNYT-TV in Albany deputies attempted to stop a car being driven on Interstate 88 around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Desmond says the male driving the car fled but crashed into guardrails near Exit 23.

He has been taken to Basset Medical Center in Cooperstown for treatment of minor injuries. His name hasn't been released.

Officials say he was being sought after the bodies of two adults were found inside a home in the town of Laurens in neighboring Otsego County. Police remain at the scene early Wednesday morning.

No other details have been released.
