Person Struck, Killed By Train In Northern New York
PAMELIA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a person who was struck by a train in northern New York over the weekend.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the person was hit around 2:45 a.m. Saturday on tracks on the Route 37 railroad overpass in the town of Pamelia (puh-MEEL'-yuh), 70 miles north of Syracuse.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police haven't released the victim's name because deputies were still trying to notify the person's family.
