ESPN Friday Night Fights returned to the Turning Stone Casino on Friday night with an action packed card promoted by Iron Mike Productions.

Leo Hall def. Bob Wilder

The first fight of the evening on the undercard was a light heavyweight battle scheduled for four rounds. Detroit, Michigan native Leo Hall needed just 49 seconds to knockout Akron, Ohio native Bob Wilder (2-4, 1 KO) with a thunderous shot. Wilder needed to be stretchered out as a precaution. Hall is now 2-0 (2 KO).

Sam Quinones Jr. def Greg Coverson Jr.

The next fight featured a pair of junior welterweights. Sam Quinones, Jr. ran his record to 7-2 (2 KO) with a 6 round unanimous decision over Greg Coverson, Jr. (3-9-3, 2 KO) Quinnones dominated the fight throughout. After feeling Coverson out the first couple of rounds, Quinnones began landing combinations at will to both the head and body. Credit to Coverson for absorbing the punishment, but in the end was unable to mount any credible offense.

Ryan 'Blue Chip' Martin def Ian James

The third fight of the night was a lightweight bout scheduled for 4 rounds. Ryan "Blue Chip" Martin was the aggressor throughout and looked impressive, staying undefeated (6-0, 3 KO) with a unanimous decision over Ian James (2-8-1, 1 KO). Martin landed a bunch of lefts in the 2nd round hurting James, and barraged the body of James with rights in the 3rd and 4th rounds. James tried to counter in the 4th but Martin defended those attempts well and countered effectively.

Dennis Galarza def Gadiel Andaluz

A junior lightweight fight between Dennis Galarza and Gadiel Andaluz was up next and was scheduled for 6 rounds. Galarza opened a cut over the left eye of Andaluz midway through the first round, and was pretty much in control from that point on. Andaluz
was able to find the body of Galarza in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds with some great counter punches, but it was not enough. Galarza picked up the win by unanimous decision to extend his undefeated record to 4-0 (2 KO). Andaluz falls to 4-7 (2 KO).

John Williams def Johnny Garcia
Next up was the first championship bout of the night. USBO champion Johnny Garcia and John Williams fought for the WBC Latino Junior Welterweight Championship. The first three rounds saw great back and forth action between the two. In the 4th round, Williams was able to open a cut over Garcia's right eye. Towards the end of the 5th round, Williams was able to stun Garcia with a big left hook, but Garcia was able to get out of the round. Both fighters came out punching in the 6th round with Garcia landing a couple of nice body shots. Both seemed to revert to feeling each other out, trading offense in both the 7th and 8th rounds. The judges scored it in favor of Williams by majority decision. He is now 12-
3-1 (5 KO). Garcia suffered his second defeat, his record now 19-2 (11 KO).

Ievgin 'The Ukranian Lion' Khytrov vs Chris Chatman

The first fight featured on ESPN pitted 2012 Ukraine Olympian middleweight Ievgin "The Ukrainian Lion" Khytrov against fellow middleweight Chris Chatman. Chatman landed a few power shots in the 1st round to set the tone early, but Khytrov was able t
o landed some powerful counter left jabs in round 2. Khytrov then started landing more power shots in the third, eventually knocking down and scoring a 3rd round TKO. He is now 5-0 with 5 knockouts to start his professional career. Chatman is now 12-4-1 (5
KO)

Sammy Vasquez Jr. def Ray Krupp

Up next was a welterweight match up scheduled for 8 rounds featuring two time All-Army and Armed Forces Champion, Sammy "The Who Can Mexican" Vasquez, Jr. He was matched up against "Smokin'" Jay Krupp, a fighter based out of Catskill, NY. Vasquez dominated the 1st round, knocking down Krupp with a wicked left hook late in the round. Vasquez continued dominating in the second round with a vicious right jab, which set up another knockdown of Krupp via a left hook midway through the second.
Vasquez then finished off the over matched Krupp at 1:19 in the 3rd round, picking up the TKO, this time knocking Krupp down with a flush left jab. The impressive Vasquez is now 15-0 with 11 knockouts. Krupp drops to 17-7 (8 K0).

Yudel Johnson vs Norberto ' Demonio' Gonzalez

The main event on ESPN featured 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist Yudel Jhonson and former Mexican Welterweight Champion Norberto "Demonio" Gonzalez in a WBC Fecarbox & WBA/NABA Junior Middleweight Championship bout. Both fighters turned 33 years old today, but for only one of them, it would be a happy birthday. Jhonson and Gonzalez both landed sharp left hooks and jabs in the first two
rounds. The back and forth continued in the 3rd round, with Jhonson landing another big left at the bell. Jhonson hit a big left again at the end of the 5th,
knocking Gonzalez down. The left handed barrage by
Jhonson continued into the later rounds as he maintained control over Gonzalez. Jhonson did hit Gonzalez with an accidental low blow in the 9th. Gonzalez was able to continue and was dropped to the canvas for a second time with another left hook late in the 9th round. Gonzalez showed late life in the 10th and final round, perhaps knowing he was desperate for a knockout. He was unable to get it thoughand the judges awarded Jhonson with a unanimous decision. He is now 16-1 (9 KO), while Gonzalez drops to 20-4 (13 KO)

Detroit light heavyweight Isiah Thomas (13-0, 6 KOs) remained unbeaten, blanking (80-72 X 3) Pittsburgh veteran Rayco "War" Saunders (23-24-2, 10 KOs) for an eight-round decision.
