A $350,000 waterfront project in the City of Rome will be funded by Oneida County's Partners In Prosperity Infrastructure Fund.

The project includes upgrades to Bellamy Harbor Park, including a Welcome Center with restrooms, water fountains and other amenities, as well as two pavilions..

Rome Mayor Joe Fusco said of the Partners in Prosperity Program “I want to thank County Executive Anthony Picente for putting this innovative program in place. These are instrumental infrastructure upgrades that without this funding could not be accomplished.”

One-million dollars has been placed in the Partners In Prosperity Fund for infrastructure projects in Utica and Rome.

The fund also provides grants for public safety, arts and culture and STEM education.

The money was included in the 2015 county budget and comes from the settlement with the Oneida Indian Nation.
