Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente delivered his 2017 State of the County Address on Thursday at Danielle's in New Hartford

Picente  talked about the commitment to the Marcy Nano site, which he says continues to be a cornerstone of the county's economic development agenda.  He also pledged to continue to be a strong partner with Mohawk Valley Health System to build a new hospital.

Picente also talked about continued efforts to consolidate government services and fight the heroin epidemic in the county.

The County Executive says he'll ask the Board of Legislators to create a Director of Economic Development to oversee all economic development in the county.

And Picente is proposing creating a sports and entertainment district in downtown Utica with three anchor tenants, the Utica Memorial Auditorium, the Oneida Indian Nation and the FX Matt Brewery.

That includes an expansion at the Aud backed by County bonding and State financing.
