Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has issued an Extreme Cold Advisory for the weekend.

Picente says due to dangerous wind chill values Saturday and Sunday night, there is the potential for frostbite and hypothermia.

Wind chill factors could range between 35 to 40 below zero throughout the county.

Residents should take the following precautions when leaving the house: wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight and warm clothing. Wear a hat; cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold. Mittens are better than gloves. Stay dry and out of the wind.
