Picente Names New Oneida County Mental Health Commissioner

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has named Robin O'Brien as the county's new Mental Health Commissioner.

O'Brien has spent her career working with recipients of mental health services on many levels. She's served as Executive Director of U.S Care Systems in Utica for the past 20 years.

Picente said “Robin is exactly what we were looking for in a new commissioner. Her experience in health care and mental health is an intriguing mix that I felt was essential to the position. The Office of Mental Health, Oneida County Government and most importantly the people of Oneida County will all benefit from her leadership.”

Debra Whitford, who took over as Interim Commissioner in 2013, will stay on in her previous role with the department.
